What type of batteries does the Catchbox use?

The Catchbox requires two 'AA' batteries to power the throwable microphone. The base station that communicates with the microphone does not need batteries as it plugs directly into a wall socket via an AC adaptor.

The kits we deploy come with a total of six 'AA' batteries. This will accommodate for three battery swaps.

Each pair of batteries should last the Catchbox microphone for two to three, three hour classes. The three pairs will last most users for the duration of their two-week borrowing period.

In the event that you do need more batteries, please contact us via ltshelp@yorku.ca so that we can coordinate a time for you to come in for a new set of batteries.

To ensure that your batteries last the duration of the loan period, please remember to turn the microphone off after each use.
