Yes, the batteries are charged when you first receive the kit. To ensure that you have enough for the two week sign-out, we have inserted two fresh batteries into the microphone, and few replacement batteries for you to change as you need to.

To ensure that you know which batteries are 'fresh' and which you have used, we recommend that you put the used batteries into the battery slots in the case, negative side up. You will find all batteries in the kit positive side up first.
