How to Grade a Quiz

General Quiz Grading Features

View attempts

As a first step, in order to view a list of attempts made by your students, please click Attempts on your Quiz/Exam, as you can see on the screenshot below:

Review an attempt

Now that you are viewing the list of attempts, you can review a specific attempt by clicking Review attempt under the attempt you are trying to review, as you can see on the screenshot below:


Attempt Review page

Upon reviewing an attempt, you will be able to view info about the attempt such as Student name, time attempt started, time attempt completed, state (whether finished, incomplete, etc...), time taken, grade and the questions with the student's answers and whether or not they are correct. Please see screenshot below for demonstration:

Delete

Please be advised some types of questions are graded automatically, and some types of questions only allow manual grading.

Grading and overriding grades

On the Review Attempt page(mentioned above), you will be able grade questions that require manual grading, and you will be able to override grades to questions that were automatically graded (if you wish to do so). You can do so by simply clicking Make comment or override mark under the question you wish to grade, as you can see on the screenshot below:

After clicking Make comment or override mark, you will be taken to the page below, where you can view the Question and the student's answer, and you will be able to give them a mark and leave a comment for them there, as you can see on the screenshot below:


Delete

You can override the grade for an automatically graded question by following the same process above

  2. True/False
  3. Short Answer
  4. Matching

Common manually-graded question types

  1. Essay
