Are you wanting to move videos from one course to another? Have you accidentally uploaded a video to your My Folder (or somewhere else?) and are not sure how to grant access to the students? To use the Panopto block method for sharing videos, make sure that your course is set up and provisioned prior to following these steps.
Instructions
Log into Panopto using the Panopto app or the YorkU Panopto link. If you've logged in through the Panopto app, click on Manage Online Recordings to get to the Panopto portal. Once there, the two items of interest are the My Folder and the Browse folders:
See if you can find your video:
- Look in My Folder
- Look in Browse - this area will show all the folders you have access to. Be sure to drill down to the last subfolder to see if the video is present
- When you have found the video you wish to move, click the Settings cog:
- On the Overview tab, you will see the location of the video in the Folder location under Session Information:
- Click on Edit beside the Folder path (in this case, My Folder but it could be somewhere else where you located it)
- If you have not renamed your course prior to provisioning the Panopto block, simply paste the title of your eClass site into the drop down path and press Save.
- If the folder name does not appear, chances are the course was renamed - Panopto will retain the original name for the course. If this is the case, open the destination course's Panopto block and follow the Course Settings link:
- Once you are on the corresponding Panopto page, copy the course folder name:
- Follow steps 4-6 to paste and save the folder name.
- If the folder name does not appear, chances are the course was renamed - Panopto will retain the original name for the course. If this is the case, open the destination course's Panopto block and follow the Course Settings link:
- The videos will now appear in your eClass' Panopto block.
