PeerMark is a peer-review tool included within the Turnitin ecosystem. It enables students to review and provide feedback on their peers' submissions based on criteria set by the instructor. PeerMark is designed to promote collaborative learning, critical thinking, and engagement by allowing students to assess the work of others while receiving constructive feedback on their own submissions. PeerMark integrates with eClass through the Turnitin plugin, which adds Turnitin functionality (including PeerMark) directly into the eClass environment.
How do I set it up?
In order to use Peermark, first you will need to create a standard Turnitin assignment - Set up the assignment with the necessary details, including title, submission dates, and assignment instructions.
From the Turnitin activity Submission Inbox:
- Click on the green gear icon
- You will be brought to the PeerMark Assignment page
Depending on your resolution and scaling, you may need to scroll down to find the bottom of the pop up box, and scroll to the right until you see the + icon, and press it:
- Add the relevant details to the PeerMark assignment
- Maximum Points Available: This is the highest grade students can earn for completing the assignment. For example, if you set it to 100 points, that’s the maximum score a student can achieve.
- Students Can Review From: This is the start date for the PeerMark assignment. Students can begin their peer reviews from this date and continue until the "Students Can Review Until" date.
- Students Can Review Until: This is the deadline for students to complete their peer reviews.

Peer Feedback Available From: This is when students can start viewing the comments and scores left by their peers.
- You may wish to check out the additional assignment settings. Complete instructions for these settings can be found here.
- When the settings are entered, press Save & Continue
Deleting
If you have only one PeerMark assignment set up, select the red Delete button at the top-right of the PeerMark setup page.
If you have more than one PeerMark assignment, select the blue trash can icon to the right of the assignment you'd like to delete.
